How it all began
The foundations of today's company were laid by Jiří Mánek back in 1991. His original intention was to sell ceramics, glass, and porcelain, which worked for the next five years. However, the turning point came in 1996, when the company decided to make a change and started importing and selling lighting. That turned out to be the right decision.
Growth and the arrival of a new generation
Demand grew, so in 2003 our goods also entered large Czech hobby markets, and the company gradually grew into one of the largest suppliers of lighting in the Czech Republic. A key milestone was then the year 2009, when sons Lukáš and Jiří Mánek Jr. joined the company. The company launched its first e-shop, svět-svítidel.cz, which led to expansion into a large part of Europe.
New names for new challenges
In 2017, Jiří Mánek's business was transformed into Donoci s.r.o. We operated under this name until the spring of 2025. To better reflect our international reach and plans, since May 2025, our company has operated under the new brand Alasans s.r.o.
We are expanding and modernizing
By 2025, Alasans will be the market leader in lighting in the Czech Republic and the second-largest supplier in Europe. To meet the increasing demand for our products and the growing service requirements of our customers, we have expanded our logistics center. Between the end of 2023 and summer 2025, we gradually renovated existing areas and constructed new ones, doubling our warehouse space to a total of 35,000 m². This includes a new high-bay warehouse with 4,500 pallet spaces and a height of 19 m.
In addition, with this capacity expansion, we implemented the new mySTOCK® inventory management system from Kvados a.s. This system optimizes warehouse processes using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Automating these processes helps to accelerate order picking and shipping preparation, allowing our customers to receive their orders faster.
What our expanded logistics center has achieved:
- We have doubled our warehouse space to 35,000 m².
- The average shipping time has been reduced from 12 to just 4 hours.
- We can now process up to 10,000 orders per day.
- Thanks to optimization and automation, we have increased packaging productivity by 2.5 times

Currently, we ship orders on the same day we receive them from the customer, or the next day if the order is received in the evening. For self-pickup at our logistics center, customers can collect their goods an average of four hours after placing the order. Considering that most of our items are lighting fixtures, which require careful handling and packaging, this is a very good result.

We shine in 26 European countries
Right now, Alasans products shine in 26 European countries. To give you an idea, this is almost the same number as the number of current members of the European Union (27). And where can you find us? We are not 100% copying the European Union, but the list is long. For example, in 2015, ten years ago, we were "only" in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland. Visionaries and hard workers - who stands behind Alasans?
The flawless functioning of the company and the ability to grow consistently are undoubtedly prerequisites for success. Equally important, however, are our employees. The true founder, Jiří Mánek Sr., was joined in 2009 by his two sons, Lukáš and Jiří Mánek Jr. But we cannot overlook the contributions of all our other employees. Since 2015, when we had 65 employees, their ranks have grown to around 300 employees who contribute to the company's operations. To each and every one of them, we express our gratitude for their dedication and hard work.
Also thanks to its employees, Alasans now belongs to well-known companies in the e-commerce world, which, in addition to thousands of positive reviews from satisfied customers, is proven by the company’s repeated inclusion in the rankings of the European digital world leaders.
